Atty. Francisco Ed. Lim is an Independent Director of the Energy Development Corporation and a member of the Corporation’s Audit and Governance Committee. He is also a Senior Partner of ACCRALAW and a member of its Corporate and Special Projects Department (CSPD) and Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department (LDRD).
Prior to his election to the EDC Board, Mr. Lim was the President and CEO and Director of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), President & CEO of the Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines (SCCP); Chairman of the PSE Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI) and Capital Market Development Center, Inc. (CMDCI); Director of the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation (PDEx); Trustee of the Securities Investors Protection Fund (SIPF) and member of the Capital Market Development Council (CMDC). Atty. Lim is credited with several reform initiatives in the PSE, and he successfully worked for the passage by Congress of several capital market-related laws. He was the Chairman of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on the Collective Investment Schemes Law (CISL) and Chairman of the TWG on Real Estate Investments Trusts (REITS) in the 14th Congress of the Philippine Senate.
Atty. Lim is currently a member of the Financial Executives of the Philippines (FINEX). He is a law professor at the College of Law of the Ateneo de Manila University and the Graduate School of Law of San Beda College, and a Professional Lecturer of the Philippine Judicial Academy (PhilJA).
Atty. Lim is a member of both the Philippine Bar and New York State Bar. As a lawyer, he was actively involved in the revision of rules for Philippine courts. He is the Co-Chairperson of the Sub-Committee of the Philippine Supreme Court on the E-Commerce Law and a member of the Sub-committees on SEC cases, among others.
Mr. Lim graduated magna cum laude in Bachelor of Philosophy and cum laude in Bachelor of Arts from the University of Santo Tomas. He completed with honors his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, and his Master of Laws degree from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
