Our Social and Environmental Commitment

Health

comm-partnerships-inset-3We believe that health is a basic necessity and the right of every Filipino, regardless of social status. Access to and practice of proper health and hygiene also translate into better quality of life. Thus, about 47 Barangay Health Centers (BHCs) have risen to the challenge of providing more effective medical care with the refurbishment of basic health facilities and equipment, as well as additional supply of basic medicines.

To complement the upgrade, health workers have also gained enhanced working knowledge for delivering treatment and care to the community through the various health trainings that attracted almost 300 participants — among them, barangay health workers, midwives, health volunteers and nurses– with all of them equipped with working paraphernalia to facilitate their daily tasks.

A telling proof of our commitment to bring communities into the modern world is the enviable situation now prevailing in 13 barangays and two sitios. Finally, these communities now enjoy the convenience of toilet facilities and potable drinking water supply through the rehabilitation/installation of water systems.

Our series of focused medical, dental and optical outreach programs benefited more than 10,000 patients with treatment and medical assistance.

And in a literal giving of self, more than 59,000 cc of blood was donated by the company’s Galloners’ Club to the Philippine National Red Cross in bloodletting drives.

Tackling another important facet of a community’s health, substance abuse was also discussed in seminars where more than a thousand students and community members expanded their awareness of this vital issue.
