The Energy Development Corporation’s Sub-Surface Geothermal Resource Group (SSGR) generates a lot of data for the company. This data is valuable in EDC’s operations, as it is analyzed and processed to make informed decisions in managing geothermal fields.
This large amount of data needs to be stored in a centralized database, not just for convenience, but also to ensure that the data does not get lost through time.
In EDC, we have Integra.
Integra, short for Integrated Geothermal Resource Archive, is the spiritual successor of several legacy in-house applications previously developed by Energy Development Corporation. It stores SSGR-generated data in support of SSGR activities such as drilling monitoring, well health monitoring, and steam output monitoring. Integra also facilitates the collection of data in the field using its companion mobile apps developed for iOS. Once the data is stored in Integra, it can be processed and visualized within the system for analysis and interpretation.
Since it is hosted in the cloud, Integra can be accessed anywhere in the world with an internet connection, enabling its use even when EDC employees work from home.
It’s not just SSGR who uses the data. Integra has a direct connection to the EDC Data Lake, where it interacts with real-time data from our in-house PI servers. Data from Integra is actively being utilized for more advanced uses like big data analytics and machine learning.
Integra is actively being developed right now, with additional projects for improvement slated for 2021.
