Now in its 19th year, the Philippine Quill Awards organized by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)-Philippines is one of the country’s most prestigious award-giving bodies in the field of business communication.

EDC brought home a total of four excellence awards under the Communication Management and Communication Skills categories. Three projects that promote a regenerative mindset received awards, namely: “EDC and G Diaries: Changing the World 2gether,” “EDC Races for a Regenerative Future,” and “EDC@45: Forging Regenerative Partnerships with Positive Impact,” the company’s 45th anniversary celebration.

EDC’s Biodiversity Conservation and Monitoring Program (BCMP), which aims to increase awareness, knowledge, and understanding of the rich flora and fauna that thrive within its geothermal facilities, also won a Quill Award of Excellence.

The geothermal leader also took home three Quill Awards of Merit under the Communication Management category for its “Powering the Flight of the Philippine Eagle” entry. For the employee engagement category, its “EDC 45: Forging Regenerative Partnership with Positive Impact” was recognized once again.

“We believe that the way we communicate is just as important as the implementation and positive impact of our various corporate social responsibility programs, sustainability initiatives and stakeholder relations efforts,” said EDC Assistant Vice President and Corporate Relations and Communications head Atty. Allan Barcena.

“We proudly share these awards and recognitions with our partner organizations, communities, and the people who have made our work successful and those who continuously help us attain our mission of forging collaborative pathways for a decarbonized and regenerative future.”

The Energy Development Corporation (EDC) is the leading 100% clean, renewable energy company in the Philippines, with over 40 years of experience in geothermal technology. With power plants located across the country, EDC is the world’s largest vertically integrated geothermal company. Environmental conservation and inclusive growth for its partner communities have always been embedded in its operations, both of which are crucial in fulfilling its mission to forge collaborative pathways for a decarbonized and regenerative future.
