Geothermal leader Energy Development Corporation (EDC) bagged Anvil awards for its three entries in the recently concluded 48th Anvil Awards. EDC won an Anvil Award of Excellence for its coffeetable book Rafflesia of the Philippines: A Story of Adventure, Appetite, and Affinity. The book was cited for effectively engaging both scientists and laymen with its comprehensive taxonomic information on the 10 Philippine species of the largest single flower in the world, seamlessly fusing scientific data and literary drama, and earning rave review from the scientific and literary communities. EDC also received two Anvil Awards of Merit for its Integrated Annual and Sustainability Report entitled Higher Peaks, New Horizons and its CSR project for the youth called College Admission Review and Readiness (CAREERS). Higher Peaks, New Horizons was cited for exemplary sustainability reporting. CAREERS won for its sustained financial assistance, academic guidance and post-graduation job placement aid that will ensure a bright future for its scholars.
