EDC donates medical supplies, equipment to Nagotgot, Albay health centers

First Gen-owned Energy Development Corporation (EDC), the country’s leading geothermal producer, donated much-needed medical supplies, equipment, and furniture worth Php 262,000 to two newly constructed health centers in Brgy. Nagotgot, Manito, Albay on May 16. 

EDC Palayan Binary Plant Project (PBPP) Project Manager Engr. Anthony Witkowski, Construction Manager Neil Racho, and EDC Bacman Corporate Relations Department (CRD) Head Eduardo Jimenez led the turnover of clinic beds, wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, tables, drawers, medicines, and other medical equipment. 

 

“Today, we turn over these donations to your institution to help you in diagnosing and treating your patients, no matter what their condition is. May this regenerative project continues to strengthen our relationship with our community,” Racho said in his speech delivered during the turnover ceremony.

Jimenez acknowledged the doctors and health workers for their unrelenting service in the community and thanked the EDC PBPP team for their support to the health practitioners.

 

“Our health workers need sufficient supplies and reliable equipment to provide quality health services to patients and residents of Brgy. Nagotgot and nearby areas,” said Jimenez. “These donations will aid the operations of the two newly-built health facilities and strengthen their health system and be able to better respond to the health needs of the community.”  

 

During the formal turnover and the signing of the Deed of Donation, Barangay Nagotgot Chairman Juan Ortiz expressed his appreciation to EDC for the in-kind donations. 

Barangay Nagotgot Chairman, councilors and barangay health workers (BHWs) expressed their gratitude to EDC PBPP for the donations that will help them in the operations of the new healthcare facilities.

Dakulaon po ang samuyang pasalamat kaining katabangan kang EDC na makakatabang sa samuyang barangay lalo na ining may mga sadit na aki, marani sa center igwa na kaming mga gamit, materyales, equipment sa samuyang health center. (We are very thankful for the provision and assistance given by EDC. This is a great help for the barangay, especially for those families seeking assistance from the center. We now have the supplies, materials and equipment in our health center.)”

 

Rural Health Midwife Amelia Daep shared that the barangay health workers (BHW) feel blessed to receive EDC’s donations that will be used to help their constituents. “We know that not all communities were given this kind of health assistance, and we are truly fortunate to receive these. I am proud to say that our BHWs are very dedicated and well-trained, always ready to be of service.”
