EDC donates school supplies for Yolanda victims

Oscar Lopez (2nd from left), chairman emeritus of Energy Development Corporation (EDC), personally turned over the company’s donation of school supplies intended for EDC’s adopted schools in 16 barangays in Ormoc City and Kananga in Leyte.  EDC which operates the country’s largest geothermal project in Leyte donated notebooks, ballpens, pencils, pad papers, and sharpeners.  Receiving the donation are Mayor Elmer Codilla of Kananga (3rd from left) and DepEd Superintendent Mariza Magan (4th from left).  EDC President and COO Richard Tantoco (1st from left) said that each pack which contains 4 notebooks, 2 pad papers, 2 ballpens, 2 pencils, and 1 sharpener will benefit more than 7,000 pupils in Kananga and Ormoc.  Aside from the school supplies, relief goods are supplied daily by EDC to all the barangays in Kananga and Ormoc, and nearby towns.  The company also continues to provide medical treatment and medicines to affected residents.
