Taguig City – Energy Development Corporation Celebrates Vendor Partnerships at Inaugural Recognition Day
First Gen’s renewable energy arm, Energy Development Corporation (EDC), recently hosted its inaugural Vendor Recognition Day to celebrate the significant contributions of its key suppliers and contractors in 2023-2024, laying the foundation for stronger collaborations moving forward.
The event, themed “Thriving Together: Growing Partnerships for Mutual Success,” underscored EDC’s recognition of its vendors’ vital role in achieving the company’s success.
In his opening message, EDC President and Chief Operating Officer Jerome H. Cainglet thanked the company’s most outstanding vendors who stood by them with excellence and innovations amid the extreme weather conditions and other challenges that impacted its operations in the past two years. He expressed how their willingness to go above and beyond was what drove their shared success.
“Innovation continues to reshape our industry, opening doors to new technologies, sustainable practices, and untapped markets. We may face challenges, but these also present incredible opportunities for growth that we can seize together,” added Cainglet.
Cainglet likewise emphasized the session on EDC’s decarbonization journey, which he hopes will reinforce both EDC and the vendors’ shared commitment to building a green, regenerative future.
The Vendor Recognition Day underscored EDC’s commitment to building strong, collaborative relationships with its vendors, recognizing their vital role in the company’s success. Vendors were recognized for their contributions across several key areas, including involvement in Drilling Operations Plans, support of growth projects, successful delivery of priority projects, proactive risk mitigation, and timely calamity response.
These parameters reflect the value of our partnerships and emphasize the importance of collaboration, innovation, and resilience. A total of 49 vendors invited with the parameters above were recognized and given the Strategic Partnership Awards, including SLB, ThermaPrime Drilling Corporation, First Balfour, Inc., and Hong Equipment and Development Corporation.
EDC’s Assistant Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Abigaile Palas closed the event with high hopes for a better partnership: “As we move forward this 2025, let us sustain the energy and inspiration of this event.
