4 Reasons to Power Your Business with EDC
We make the clean choice to give you a better choice.
We made the decision to focus our business on low-carbon, clean, renewable energy. Today, that decision enables others to put their own business on a more sustainable path. By using clean, reliable, cost-competitive renewable energy, you can create a better future for your business and our planet.
Companies are making the shift to renewable energy.
More and more institutions and organizations are discovering how much better things can be when they use clean energy. The increasing number of companies making the switch to renewable energy is proof that, not only is it the smart choice for the climate and the environment, it is also a wise business investment.
As the leading renewable energy provider in the Philippines, EDC is in a position to help companies make the transition to clean and renewable energy. Beyond being a service provider, we also enable our clients and customers to make changes that will benefit not only their business operations, but also the environment.
“It’s good to know that we can contribute to carbon reduction at zero cost,” says Oddy Velarde, Automation Executive at Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Inc., whose bottling facilities in Ilocos, Pangasinan, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Cebu now run on clean energy sources.
The Coca-Cola System in the Philippines has established a holistic sustainability practice. Its value chain, from manufacturing to distribution, has systems in place reducing their environmental impact. Coca-Cola works constantly to remain an industry leader by practicing sustainable business operations and continuously improving upon their processes to strengthen their environment-conscious policies.
Given EDC’s leadership and longevity in the industry, it also has the capability to support companies as they develop smart energy strategies. This greatly reduces the negative environmental impacts of their industrial or commercial operations, without sacrificing efficiency and productivity.
“EDC continues to give us learnings to reinforce our sustainability roadmap, and to place more focus on the aspect of our carbon footprint,” says Joseph Emmanuel Liwag, Vice President and Managing Director of Knowles Electronics Corporation, a customer and an active partner of the EDC BINHI Program in Cebu City.
The nationwide greening program promotes the reforestation of denuded areas and the propagation of threatened native tree species, both of which help sequester and absorb more carbon from the atmosphere.
These new and renewed partnerships validate that more companies are making the switch to renewable energy as a smart energy solution that strengthens business operations without sacrificing the welfare of the environment.
Renewable energy, especially geothermal, benefits you and the climate.
By switching to renewable energy, we avoid the carbon emissions that contribute to global warming.
Geothermal energy is the most reliable form of baseload renewable energy with its inherent capability to supply clean, renewable power 24/7, all day and night, rain or shine, all year round. Powering your business with our Geo 24/7 is the best way to have uninterrupted supply of electricity that does not harm the environment.

Our customers can take pride in the fact that they have chosen to work with a company that invests not only in its operations, but also shares value with its host communities.
Generating value beyond our business
Our primary stakeholders are our host barangays and primary partner barangays (PPBs) within the immediate vicinity of all our project sites, as well as the neighboring communities residing along our project access roads.
Currently, our strategic CSR programs benefit 49 primary partner barangays across all our areas of operation in Bicol, Ilocos Norte, Leyte, Negros Island, and North Cotabato. These programs also impact the 12 host barangays in our FG Hydro facilities in Nueva Ecija, and the 109 upland community associations that serve as our partners in our watershed management programs.
In 2020, we invested around PhP256.5 million towards our strategic CSR programs, which already includes reforestation investments from FG Hydro. This investment not only supported our strategic CSR programs, but also supported the infrastructure development; disaster preparedness and response; information, education, and communication (IEC) activities; and the external relations and socio-cultural activities of our primary partner barangays.
This investment also accounted for the royalty payments for the host communities of our power projects; direct investments in community projects; and ecosystem services for the preservation of the watershed areas in all our project sites.
